Woman Finds a Lost Chicken in the Big City, Saves Him From the Freezing Cold and Gives Him a New Life on Her Mom's Countryside Homestead

Why did the chicken cross the road? 

The last thing you'd expect walking around the big city in the middle of record-breaking winter ice-outs is a random, baby rooster, but when this woman found a sad, cold chicken on the city streets, she leapt into action to save him. Not only was the chicken trusting and adorably affectionate, but he also immediately strolled up to her in the back alley behind her apartment complex, chirping for help and asking for a warm bed for the night. 

Not only did the woman offer the chicken some cozy cuddles and a bed for the night, but she also fostered him for weeks, protecting him from her cats, teaching him to eat, and preparing him for a life on the farm: Her mother's farm outside of town. 

Wholesome tales from city to countryside are not uncommon, but usually these peace-inducing rags-to-riches stories involve race horses, former hunting dogs, or a carriage pony that's finally found peace away from the bustling city. However, when a chicken finds himself lost in the city, with nowhere to go and freezing temperatures creeping up on him, all he can do is chirp for assistance and hope that a wholesome human hears his cries for help. This desperate feathered friend found exactly what he was looking for this fateful wintry night, and instead of facing the dark shivers alone, he found the one woman who was perfectly equipped to save him and offer him a wholesome homestead once he was strong enough.

  • After a survey of the property and a heartfelt goodbye, the woman and her chicken parted ways. Although they didn't spend much time together, their bond is eternally sacred because of all the cuddles, pecks, and cute little moments they shared together. Besides, this isn't goodbye forever because she can always come to visit him in the country. A future full of feathery family holidays and weekends away awaits her, and she knows that her favorite chicken boy will be happy and waiting to see her again.
